Enjoy specials, beer-centric events and more at select Wilmington breweries during Wilmington Beer Week, February 28-March 5.

Beer lovers, we’ve found the event for you! Wilmington Beer Week is a celebration of local brewing in the greater Wilmington area. Breweries throughout the city will participate in special events, release specialty small-batch brews, introduce menu specials and more throughout the week. This is the perfect time to check out that local brewery you’ve been thinking about visiting but haven’t made the time yet. Plus, you can download and print a Wilmington Beer Week Passport online and, if you make it out to at least five breweries throughout the week, there’s a chance for fun prizes like gift cards for different Wilmington Beer Week breweries.

Breweries participating in this year’s Wilmington Beer Week are Bellefonte Brewing, Dew Point Brewing, Liquid Alchemy Beverages, Hangman Brewing, Iron Hill, Stitch House Brewery, Twisted Irons and Wilmington Brew Works. Each local of these local businesses will celebrate with unique beer-centric events and special releases.

“It’s great to see a Wilmington Beer Week return with a focus on locally brewed beer.” says Craig Wensell, CEO and brewer for Wilmington Brew Works. “Wilmington has a great brewing tradition with some big breweries that unfortunately didn’t survive much past prohibition. Now we’ve got three breweries in the city limits and plenty more a short drive away. When someone visits Wilmington and heads to a bar or restaurant, they can now find beer on tap that was brewed a few miles away.”

Some of these restaurants and bars are also participating in Wilmington Beer Week. Eateries with impressive beer selections like Chelsea Tavern, Dorcea, Grain (Trolley Square), Two Stones Pub and more will feature local brews and host fun events. Grain’s Trolley Square location offers 302 beer flights with selections from surrounding breweries and chef specials like a “beer” cheese made with Liquid Alchemy’s Thai chili mead. Wilmington Beer Week is also a great time to take advantage of Chelsea Tavern’s $12 Flight Night on Saturday, during which time you can build your own flight of five different beers to try.
